A Crazy Week

I just wanted to take a moment to say how thankful I am this week.  A week ago on Saturday, my mother-in-law had a kidney transplant and as the week has gone on she appears to be doing better and better.  Her father died from the same disease about 40 years ago and I think that it is truly amazing how far we have come in the field of medicine.

So, we have been doing the bare minimum this week in regards to school work and I am finding it more and more difficult to move along.  We school year round, but really buckle down during the summer months, and I find this time of the year to be very difficult because almost everyone else is finishing up.  Most people talk about the difficulty of staying on task in February (when our new school year is just beginning).  However, in Florida, it is not a great thing to have all of your free time during the summer months when it is just too hot between the hours of 9 am and 8 pm to be outside.  The months of October-March are so much more pleasant here and that is when I want to be out and about.  And so, we trudge on.

For those of you that are finishing up, I hope that you had a wonderful year.  And tell me….how did you beat the blah moments in February?
