I have to admit that we haven’t done much in the way of crafts lately. My dd has been working on her sewing lately and my ds is still trying to find his way out of the destroyer phase. Still, there is something about holidays that compels me to look for cute holiday crafts to do with my children. Here are a few easy ones that I have found:
Making little turkeys out of a pinecone and an acorn. The feathers can be done with construction paper, pipe cleaners, flowers, or leaves. I love that this craft is easily combined with a fall nature walk.
Cornucopias. Get ambitious and fill up a real basket with wonderful fruits and veggies or just fill up the paper version. I saw a version done with paper mosaic tiles that was very pretty, but I don’t think that my children have the patience for that this year. This is a great way to introduce a new vocabulary word. How many times will you be able to say “cornucopia” while making this craft? 🙂
Dover has a little sticker book about the First Thanksgiving and these always delight my dd. Luckily, I stashed one away last year and remembered that I had it this year. Not truly a craft, but stickers are always fun for her.
