Woodworking with Children

I was at our local Lowe’s today and I found that they had out the kits that are used during their free weekend workshops for children.  I bought the coin bank for my dd since she is lately obsessed with collecting all of the loose change that she can find.  Here is the link to the Lowe’s website with all of the other kits that are available.

I believe that the cheaper kits (less that $10) are for younger children while the more expensive kits are for older children.  Although the kit that I bought says that it is for children 5 years and older I have seen many 2-4 year olds putting together these kits during the Saturday workshops.  Obviously, a 3 year old is going to need more supervision and help than a 5 year old, but it is still a highly rewarding experience for them.
